The Albemarle Area United Way is offering a temporary Housing and Utility Assistance Program to eligible Elizabeth City and/or Pasquotank County residents. This program is funded by the Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus Program administered by the NC Department of Commerce, Rural Economic Development Division, and in partnership with the City of Elizabeth City and Pasquotank County. It must serve exclusively “Low to Moderate Income” individuals within the City and County.

If you live in Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hyde, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell, and Washington, you may apply for CARES grant funds at the Economic Improvement Council.

Beneficiaries must document income eligibility and housing/utilities related hardship during COVID-19. The hardship and supporting documentation must be no older than March 10, 2020, which is when a national emergency for COVID-19 was declared.
