Guest Speaker

Aubrey L. Layne, Jr. is Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at Sentara Healthcare. Layne oversees several Sentara teams, from legislative affairs to the Sentara College of Health Sciences. He previously served in Governor Ralph Northam’s administration as the Virginia Secretary of Finance, responsible for overseeing the Commonwealth’s annual revenue forecasts, administering the biennial state budget, and chairing the state’s Debt Advisory Board. Before serving as Secretary of Finance, Layne was appointed to serve as Virginia Secretary of Transportation by Governor Terence McAuliffe.

Prior to becoming a public servant, Layne served as President of An Achievable Dream Academy, President and Principal Broker of Great Atlantic Properties, and President of Hofheimer’s Inc.
