A great day of camaraderie and good sportsmanship at the 2025 Bocce Ball Tournament. Elizabeth City, NC – Albemarle Area United Way will gather at Waterfront Park again this spring to hold its 8th annual Bocce, Beer & Bites event. The event will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This popular event, typically attracting 350 attendees, will enable up to 40 teams to compete in the double elimination bocce tournament consisting of 4-person tea

Originally from Maine, Jessica recently returned to Elizabeth City with her two children and is proud to call this community home again. With 20 years of administrative experience, a passion for helping others, and a love of reading and book reviewing, Jessica is eager to make a positive impact across the Albemarle region.

Albemarle Area United Way has launched a special $25,000 grant to support innovative solutions addressing homelessness among adults age 65 and older in Northeast North Carolina. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations are invited to submit a Letter of Intent by October 4, 2024. The initiative aims to spark collaboration, new ideas, and lasting impact for one of the region’s most vulnerable populations.
