Splash, speed, and community impact all came together for an unforgettable day at H2OBX Waterpark during this year’s Ping Pong Plunge. In one of the most exciting and creative fundraising events of the summer, 500 ping pong balls raced down the Paradise Plunge
water slide, each one representing support for Albemarle Area United Way, Inc. and the vital programs they provide across the Albemarle region.
What made this event so special wasn’t just the thrill of watching hundreds of balls speed down the slide—it was the purpose behind it. Every ball purchased helped make a real difference in our community, turning a fun, high-energy competition into meaningful impact for local families and programs.
As the race unfolded, anticipation built quickly, with everyone watching closely to see which ball would come out on top. In the end, it was ball number 415 that claimed the win, and a big congratulations goes to Jeremy, who purchased the winning entry. Out of 500 balls, his was the fastest to the finish, an exciting moment that perfectly captured the energy of the day.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of everyone who participated, purchased a ball, and showed up to cheer it on. Your involvement directly supports the important work being done throughout the Albemarle area, and it’s a great reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for a good cause.
If you enjoyed watching the race, we invite you to share your thoughts in the comments. To further support the mission of Albemarle Area United Way, please consider making a donation to help expand our impact across the community.
