Albemarle Area United Way is celebrating four years of the Community Care Collaborative, which has helped more than 1,600 households and invested over $500,000 in crisis assistance across the region. AAUW also welcomes Alexandra Lekki as the new Community Care Collaborative Manager, where she will lead efforts to support neighbors in need and strengthen community impact through collaboration and compassion.

Bringing extensive leadership experience from Brookdale Senior Living, CHKD, and Sentara, Lorri combines professional expertise with a deep passion for serving her community. A Camden resident, devoted wife, mother of four, and proud New England native, she is ready to help strengthen AAUW’s impact across the region.

Albemarle Area United Way is proud to invest $921,712 across its nine-county service area, supporting programs and initiatives that strengthen local communities. Announced at the organization’s annual luncheon, this milestone reflects the generosity of donors and the dedication of AAUW’s Board of Directors. Founded in 1957, AAUW celebrated a record-breaking year in 2023, expanding its impact throughout the region.
